La création au-delà de l'humain - Toulouse Fr
June 4th - 15th
The Passerelle Arts Sciences Technologies group, established in 2016, unites scientific, artistic, and institutional professionals to bridge disciplinary gaps through creative projects and national advocacy. As part of a France-Quebec cooperation program (2023-2025), this initiative is building an art-science research network, with the group participating in the Hexagram symposium "Les rencontres interdisciplinaires 2024." The program centers around the Summer School "La création au-delà de l'humain" (Creativity Beyond Human) in Toulouse, where Milieux and Hexagram members will explore how machines, materials, and non-human entities reshape our understanding of creativity. Research-creation, encompassing processes that produce new aesthetic, theoretical, and technical knowledge, will focus on robotics, biotechnologies, and applied mathematics at the INRAE Occitane-Toulouse Center and LAAS-CNRS. From June 1st to June 14th, 2024, the program will feature roundtables, residencies, and workshops, bringing together prominent researchers including Sofian Audry, Jacqueline Beaumont, and others to explore human-environment relations through an art-science lens. This Franco-Quebec collaboration, marking the second partnership between Hexagram Network and the University of Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, addresses crucial questions about post-human frameworks, agency, and the intersection of art and science in an era of rapid technological advancement and environmental change. The initiative culminates in a conference titled "Creation beyond the human: Speculative metabolism between arts and sciences," where participants will share knowledge and insights about innovative art-science projects.
